Org. Setting and Reporting

The Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Management is looking for a talented graphic design intern. Are you passionate about design and ready to support and shape the United Nation’s internal and external communication efforts? Responsibilities

The Intern will support the development and implementation of a communications plan and approach for the soon to be established Department of Management, Strategy, Policy and Compliance. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

 

Designing visual content of the Department’s communication with internal and external stakeholders, using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign

Designing posters, banners, fliers, infographics and other communications materials following the Department’s visual identity

Photo research for printed and online material

Helping with the maintenance and value additions to our internal and external websites

Provide overall Graphic Design support to the team.

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

 

(a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

(b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or

(c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation.

 

Candidates should have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter and have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this position, fluency (both oral and written) in English is required; knowledge of the other is desirable.
